About The Position

Job Purpose & Position Overview Assist the Head Cook with preparing meals for Summer Feeding youth/participants. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities: Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values. Assist with preparing meals, according to cycle menu. Adhere to and promote program rules for all participants. Follow standardized recipes, using correct weights and measures. Utilize safe food handling practices, including proper storage of food. Keep work area clean and sanitize after daily food preparation is complete. Store all equipment and utensils properly. Follow safety and sanitation rules. Report any issues to the Head Cook. Follow-up on daily food preparation for following day. Inventory/stock weekly grocery order. Duties listed are only an illustration of the various types of work performed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or verifiable GED required.
  • Two (2) years prior experience as a cook or in the food service area required.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
  • All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in food safety and sanitation preferred.
  • Experience in positive interaction with youth preferred.
