About The Position

The purpose of this position is to supervise activities of the dining room area of the Kidz Café/Summer Feeding program with direct interaction with program participants (children/youth).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in working with youth and/or customer service is required.
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
• Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
• All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
• Proper setup and storage of dining room furniture (chairs and tables) on a daily and weekly basis or as needed.
• Adhere to, communicate, and positively enforce dining room rules with emphasis on manners, conduct, and respect.
• General cleaning of dining room area to include but limited to sanitizing tables, chairs, floors, and removing trash.
• Encourage Kidz Café/Summer Feeding participants to taste food as well as explain unfamiliar menu items and health benefits of a well-balanced diet. Must consult Nutrition Educator on a regular basis regarding health benefits of menu items.
• Will assist the Head Cook with food prep and service as required.
