About The Position

The Bayou Bend Kids Instructor is a position in the Bayou Bend Fitness Center, an on-site childcare service available to members and approved guests while they remain on campus for a particular service. This individual will provide quality active-based childcare for patrons of the Bayou Bend Fitness Center which involves creating a safe, productive, fun and educational environment for the children. Requirements

  • Must be highly motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must physically be able to participate in all duties required.
  • Lift 50lb
  • Stand, squat, sit, and play
  • 18 years of age with reliable transportation.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED child certification
  • Experience in the childcare industry is required - 2 years preferred
  • 18 years of age with reliable transportation
  • Successful background check

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean environment for children.
  • Maintain contact with the children at all times (never leave them unattended or unsupervised).
  • Plan and conduct age-appropriate active based games for the children and utilize the provided curriculum
  • Maintain toys, appearance of the facility, and equipment through supervision of the children and cleaning.
  • Handle and document any behavioral issues of children and/or staff
  • Greet and update parents regularly.
  • Communicate with the director/coordinator daily.
  • Maintain stated ratios between children of certain ages and staff.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the children and the parents.
  • Be a team player and perform additional duties as needed.
  • Maintain the reservation chart as needed
  • Collect payment from all patrons.
  • Assist in tracking the CK utilization.
  • Promote physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth in the children
  • Attend departmental and company-wide meetings.
  • Fill in for other youth program functions when necessary.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be required.
