Child Respite Provider
About The Position
This part-time opportunity is to provide respite care for a young boy in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Care takes place in the child’s home and on local outings. The provider will build a connection with the child, support his routine, and engage him in activities he enjoys, such as Legos, drawing, coloring, Disney movies, trampoline play, bike rides, and community outings. The family provides an Action City Pass and a local waterpark pass. The schedule includes evening shifts from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., up to 10 hours per week, and weekend overnights as needed. Hourly pay is $14.13; overnight pay is $207.45. If hired by the Member or their Managing Party, that party—not Consumer Direct Care Network—will be the legal employer and will have sole authority to hire or dismiss the provider. Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting.
Requirements
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
- Be pet friendly; the family has an indoor cat.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in childcare is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide close supervision in and outside the home.
- Engage with the child through his preferred activities.
- Encourage the child to spend time outside the home on fun outings.
- Provide hygiene support, including reminders to shower and assistance getting out of the shower.
- Prepare meals if the parents are away during meal times.
- Administer medication if away from home during medication windows.
