About The Position

Provide respite and childcare support to an active child at the family home and in the local Menomonie community. The child is independent with personal care but benefits from gentle reminders and encouragement to stay focused. The provider will help with school-day routines, transitions, snacks or simple meals, bedtime reminders, and engaging active play. The role is intended for a compassionate, energetic, reliable person who enjoys working with children. Students pursuing education, child development, social work, or related fields are encouraged to apply, though all qualified applicants with a passion for working with children are welcome. The position is part-time and pays $14.13 per hour. The Member or Managing Party is the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss; Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting.

Requirements

• Be energetic, active, and enthusiastic.
• Be dependable and punctual.
• Be comfortable engaging in sports and active play.
• Be able to build positive relationships with children.
• Have a reliable vehicle, a driver's license, and auto insurance.
• Be able to pass caregiver and criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Students or individuals pursuing degrees in education, child development, social work, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
• Interest in participating in activities the child enjoys, including hockey, basketball, bike rides, physical games, swimming, climbing, and other outdoor activities.
• Interest in occasional additional on-call opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Help the child stay on task while getting ready for school or daycare.
• Provide reminders for dressing, brushing teeth, and gathering belongings.
• Assist the child in getting to the school bus or provide occasional transportation when needed.
• Help the child transition home from school or daycare.
• Prepare or serve a simple snack or meal.
• Engage the child in fun, active play at home or in the local community.
• Assist with the bedtime routine by providing reminders and encouragement to stay on task.
