About The Position

This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible. We are seeking a caring, patient, and physically active caregiver to provide respite care to a non-verbal, autistic young boy in Bloomer, WI. It is very important to the family that a provider is willing to bond with their child by engaging in his interests. If you have an appreciation for people that are different, and enjoy learning about what makes them different, this could be a great fit for you and this family! This child is nonverbal and communicates physically (leading), with certain noises, and books. He is currently learning to use a letter board to communicate as well. He's a very active busy-body that loves to spend time playing outside and going out in the community once he is comfortable with a care provider. Respite care will take place in the child's home until the child is comfortable leaving the home with the provider.

Requirements

Experience with children with autism/special needs
Valid driver's license
Reliable vehicle & auto insurance
Physically able to keep up with a young child
