Child Respite Provider
About The Position
Provide respite care for a young boy in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, helping the child remain safe, engaged, and supported at home and during local outings. The role involves building a positive connection with the child and bringing joy and routine to his day. Care takes place in the child’s home and in the community. The family has an indoor cat. If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, that Member or Managing Party—not Consumer Direct Care Network—will be the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss the provider. Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting.
Requirements
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
- Pet friendly; the family has an indoor cat.
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide close supervision in and outside the home.
- Engage the child in preferred activities, including Legos, drawing, coloring, Disney movies, trampoline play, bike rides, and community outings.
- Encourage the child to spend time outside the home on enjoyable outings.
- Provide hygiene support, including shower reminders and assistance getting out of the shower.
- Prepare meals if the parents are away during mealtimes.
- Administer medication when away from home during medication windows.
