About The Position

HelloFresh is a leading meal-kit provider on a mission to change the way people eat. In the US, HelloFresh is the flagship brand, and marketing is crucial for its growth. As the CMO for HelloFresh US, you will be responsible for the commercial growth of the brand, overseeing brand and demand generation, and driving subscriber growth, revenue, and contribution-margin outcomes. You will also play a key role in shaping the US meal-kit portfolio, partnering with the Managing Director to drive brand portfolio strategy across HelloFresh, EveryPlate, and Green Chef, ensuring clear differentiation between these brands at distinct price points. The Heads of Marketing for EveryPlate and Green Chef will report to you on a dotted-line basis, seeking your functional leadership and expertise.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of marketing leadership experience, including CMO/VP-level scope.
  • Meaningful experience in direct-to-consumer and/or subscription businesses.
  • A commercial operator's mindset, comfortable owning or co-owning a P&L and fluent in contribution margin, CAC/LTV, payback, and unit economics.
  • A customer-centric mentality, using customer insight and behavior to develop growth-driving marketing strategies.
  • Proven experience leading marketing for businesses with significant revenue and media spend in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
  • A track record of building high-performing teams, including through dotted-line and matrixed relationships.
  • Experience operating effectively across central and local stakeholders in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience leading or influencing across a brand portfolio, with the judgment to balance individual brand interests against the health of the whole portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-funnel marketing strategy and execution for HelloFresh US, including acquisition, retention, lifecycle, brand, and creative, and be accountable for subscriber growth, revenue, CAC/LTV, and contribution-margin targets.
  • Manage the D2C subscription growth model end-to-end, encompassing paid, owned, and earned media; offline channels (TV/CTV, audio, OOH); CRM and lifecycle marketing; and pricing and promotion strategy in collaboration with commercial and finance teams.
  • Lead product marketing, connecting product value with customer needs and driving go-to-market excellence at scale. This includes defining brand territories, reasons-to-believe, and claims, and testing them in close collaboration with the growth team, while also leading product-led growth initiatives.
  • Act as a commercial operator, partnering with GMs and Finance to understand the impact of marketing on the P&L and translating marketing decisions into unit economics and payback metrics.
  • Identify and develop breakthrough partnerships, including talent and high-profile influencers, to enhance awareness, credibility, and reach, ultimately driving consideration and sign-ups.
  • Drive brand portfolio strategy across HelloFresh, EveryPlate, and Green Chef, in partnership with the Managing Director, by setting portfolio brand architecture and positioning, ensuring clear differentiation between brands, and maximizing total share and revenue across the portfolio.
  • Provide functional marketing leadership across the portfolio, leading the EveryPlate and Green Chef Heads of Marketing on a dotted-line basis to elevate craft, talent, and ways of working, and ensuring consistency and shared learning.
  • Serve as a core member of the HelloFresh US leadership team.
  • Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing marketing organization, raising the bar on talent, craft, and ways of working.
  • Navigate the global/local matrix, partnering with Global HQ, central functions, and local teams to facilitate decision-making and implement integrated growth initiatives.
