About The Position

Encompass Health is hiring a Chief Executive Officer to lead one of its inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. The CEO provides leadership to ensure seamless hospital operations, maintain financial stability, and support the organization’s mission. The role includes overseeing hospital performance, patient census, and community marketing, while fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace culture. The CEO ensures hospital activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, governing policies, and Joint Commission standards.

Requirements

• Five years of management experience in the healthcare industry.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a senior management position.
• A master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related healthcare field is preferred.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with work experience equivalent to a master’s degree, demonstrated through responsibilities such as hospital operations, budget development and oversight, marketing for volume growth and program development, FTE management, expense control, policy and procedure development and implementation, and process development for regulatory compliance.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts.
• May be required to work scheduled days or shifts on religious and/or legal holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, Governing Board and Medical Staff policies and procedures, and Joint Commission standards.
• Foster a work environment and culture that enables the hospital and staff to fulfill Encompass Health’s mission and surpass its objectives.
• Oversee hospital operations and continuously assess and improve hospital performance.
• Take responsibility for patient census and participate in marketing services within the community.
• Promote and maintain an inclusive and diverse culture that respects everyone in the patient environment and workplace.
