About The Position

Our federal client conducts chemical analyses to support rapid and precise regulatory decision-making. As a member of the Computational Toxicology Consultation Service team, this role involves leading clear, accurate communication of project consultation plans, findings, and results to internal stakeholders and external collaborators. The position requires establishing time estimates and resources for project execution and delivery schedules, acquiring and assembling data for interpretive reviews of chemical models and structures, and generating chemistry model predictions. A key responsibility is determining probable in-vitro toxicity, animal toxicity, or adverse human clinical effects. The analyst will manage 8-12 chemical batches weekly, including intake, execution, documentation, and delivery of results. This includes cataloging and recording experimental data in an appropriate format for sharing and publishing, detailing methods and procedures for reproducibility, summarizing and quality assuring data, and maintaining an archive of results in the department knowledge database. The role also focuses on improving the performance of chemistry models for future regulatory research project assessments and attending relevant applied regulatory science and drug innovation department meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or relevant area of study.
  • 0-1 years of experience with data collection, analysis, and writing scientific manuscripts and technical reports.
  • Experience in organic chemistry, cheminformatics, and chemical drawing for regulatory research project assessments.
  • Provide analysis of toxicology evaluations and report results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
  • Understanding of analysis results, targets, project plans and timelines.
  • Experience with chemical drawing tools and QSAR analyses.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or studies in pharmaceutical science and toxicology.
  • Experience with CASE Ultra, Leadscope Model Applier/Enterprise, and Derek/Sarah Nexus computational toxicology software.
  • Experience with public health agencies such as HHS, FDA, NIH and CDC.

Responsibilities
