About The Position
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to lead our after-school Cheerleading and Yoga program for students in grades K-5. This role involves instructing students in both cheerleading and yoga techniques, fostering a fun and engaging learning environment. The program is designed to be a STEAM-focused after-school activity, implying an integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics concepts where applicable within the cheer and yoga activities.
Requirements
- Experience in cheerleading and/or yoga instruction.
- Ability to work with children in grades K-5.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Background check may be required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with STEAM education concepts.
- Previous experience in an after-school program setting.
- Certification in yoga instruction.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in cheerleading techniques, including cheers, chants, and basic tumbling.
- Lead yoga sessions, focusing on age-appropriate poses, mindfulness, and flexibility.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with STEAM principles.
- Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all participants.
- Manage classroom behavior and student engagement.
- Communicate effectively with program coordinators and site staff.
- Prepare and organize necessary materials and equipment for classes.
