About The Position

Seeking a Charge Nurse for the 2D Neuro Unit. This is a part-time position (24 hours weekly) on the night shift (7pm-7am). This role is benefit-eligible and offers a sign-on bonus for experienced applicants. The Charge RN acts as a resource nurse, providing leadership and coordinating care during designated shifts. Responsibilities include leading staff in patient care, determining staffing needs, addressing departmental concerns, managing immediate staff issues, and coordinating patient flow. This position involves direct patient care and immediate oversight of employees performing similar work. The 2D Neuro unit provides high-quality care to adult patients with various neuroscience diagnoses, including strokes, TIAs, seizures, epilepsy, and other central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, the unit is recognized for its state-of-the-art stroke care and neuroscience nursing excellence.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
BLS for healthcare provider required.
NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
One year of nursing experience required.

Nice To Haves

ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Responsibilities

Acting as a resource nurse for the department.
Providing leadership to staff members in the area of patient care.
