About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2D Neuro Unit at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position (36 hours weekly) with night shifts (7pm-7am). The role involves working weekends only (WOW) plus one weeknight. The RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. The Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing, with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3–4:1). The unit provides care to adult patients with common neuroscience cases including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, the unit is recognized as a state-of-the-art stroke care center. The unit is described as a place that values teamwork, clinical expertise, and professional growth, and mentorship, welcoming new graduate nurses.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
