About The Position

Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, 2D Neuro Unit. This is an entry-level leadership position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care. This position will work alongside the team and provide direct patient care while determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts, responding to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues and coordinate patient flow. This position has immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads. The 2D Neuro unit specializes in providing exceptional, high-quality care to adult patients. Our team delivers personalized, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment. We work closely as an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, supported by dedicated providers and ancillary staff, to ensure outstanding outcomes for both patients and caregivers. Common neuroscience diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), seizures and epilepsy, degenerative neurological disorders, autoimmune conditions, and other central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, we are recognized for delivering state-of-the-art stroke care and excellence in neuroscience nursing.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
  • Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
  • BLS for healthcare provider required.
  • ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
  • NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
  • One year of nursing experience required.
  • Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
