About The Position
Join the team at UT Health Quitman as a full-time, day-shift Certified Surgical Tech in Quitman, Texas. The role serves as the primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures and contributes to safe, high-quality patient care by maintaining the sterile field and applying aseptic technique principles. The surgical technologist works with other members of the surgical team to support a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment. UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service, obtained within 90 days of graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
