About The Position

Join the team as a part-time, day-shift Certified Surgical Tech in Jacksonville, Texas. The role provides primary scrub-technologist support for a variety of routine and complex procedures. The surgical technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team using knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and maintains the sterile field with other surgical team members, applying aseptic techniques to support a safe and cost-effective environment for patients. UT Health Jacksonville has 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center emergency department, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, a wound healing center, and a fitness and rehabilitation facility. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

Technical or vocational degree.
Two years of operating room experience.

Responsibilities

Anticipate the surgical team's needs based on knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and their relevance to the surgical patient and procedure.
Work with other surgical team members to maintain the sterile field and apply aseptic technique principles, supporting a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment for patients.
