About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintains vigilance over the sterile field. The role also helps ensure the operating room is safe, equipment functions properly, and procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. This is a full-time weekend-shift position at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. Requirements
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
- Hold and maintain Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
