About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients across the age spectrum, facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. The role follows established practices and standards and supports the mission, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. The employee must complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties may be assigned. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• High-school graduate.
• Graduate of a Department of Education (DOE)- or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)-accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), or from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) as a Technician in Surgery–Certified (TS-C).
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) from ARC or AHA at hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
