About The Position
The OR Technician (Multi-specialty) is a member of the surgical team and assumes responsibility for a surgical specialty, serving as the main resource person for instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and procedures within the assigned specialty. Under the direction of the RN, the technician assists with intraoperative patient care by performing in the scrub role during surgical procedures. The role may also include selecting supplies and instruments for cases, putting away supplies and equipment, decontaminating instruments, and stocking supplies in OR rooms. The OR Technician must be able to function on all surgical procedures and participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.
Requirements
- Post-high-school vocational or specialized training.
- Graduate of an approved program.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous operating room experience is preferred.
- Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main resource person for instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and procedures within an assigned surgical specialty.

- Pick supplies and instruments for cases.
- Put away supplies and equipment.
- Decontaminate instruments.
- Stock supplies in operating rooms.
- Function on all surgical procedures.
- Participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.
