Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients across the age spectrum, facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. The technologist follows established practices and standards, supports the mission, policies, and procedures of Baptist Health System, and completes position competencies within the designated introductory period. Other related duties may be assigned. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The employer is Resolute Health Hospital, which offers healthcare services including emergency care, cardiology and cardiovascular care, orthopedics, primary care, rehabilitation, women’s health, labor and delivery, obstetrics, neonatal care, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Requirements
- High-school graduate.
- Graduate of a Department of Education (DOE)- or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)-accredited surgical technology program.
- No minimum experience required.
- Hold an accepted certification: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or TS-C (Technician in Surgery–Certified) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS is required within 60 days of hire.

- One year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
