About The Position

The Ontario OB Department is hiring a part-time Certified Surgical Technologist to join their team! This position is responsible for supporting surgical procedures as a CST, caring for patients within the unit, and completing administrative duties. The role involves assisting with overnight c-sections, providing setup and preparation of surgical procedures, supporting surgical teams, rooming patients, setting up charts, taking vitals, giving baby baths, assisting with stocking, and functioning as a Unit Clerk and Certified Nursing Assistant.

Requirements

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA or as a Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by the NCCT required.
Basic Life Support for healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

Responsibilities

Assist with overnight c-sections by providing setup and preparation of surgical procedures for physicians and surgical staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Provide support and communicate directly with surgical teams and supervisory staff.
Room patients.
Set up charts.
Help take vitals.
Give baby baths.
Assist the floor in stocking.
Function as a Unit Clerk and Certified Nursing Assistant to provide exceptional patient care.
