The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of an occupational therapist. The role assists with therapeutic interventions and documentation while supporting quality and compliance standards in rehabilitation services. The COTA communicates patient progress and concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team, helps patients’ families or nursing staff follow through with programs and home exercises, and supports patient scheduling and daily post-treatment charges. The position also requires accurate documentation, maintaining clean and safe treatment areas and equipment, and compliance with applicable company policies, laws, and professional standards. CHRISTUS Health Rehabilitation Hospital is operated through a joint venture between CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center–Longview and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health. The hospital has 36 private rooms and expands rehabilitation capacity beyond the medical center’s rehabilitation unit.
