About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant at Charter House, Mayo Clinic’s retirement community in downtown Rochester, Minnesota, provides and assists with direct and indirect resident care in Assisted Living and Short-Term Rehabilitation settings. The role supports residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and contributes to a safe, caring, and engaging community. The position offers self-scheduling, interdisciplinary teamwork, around-the-clock staffing, and opportunities for career development. Candidates must attend Mayo Clinic Orientation on their start date, followed by seven weekdays of Charter House orientation and training. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold Nursing Assistant Certification and be listed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
- Attend all required orientation sessions: Mayo Clinic Orientation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the start date, followed by seven weekdays of Charter House orientation and training from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Work independently.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and human relations skills for interacting with residents and staff.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
- Be available for varied hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, with rotating days off.

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and promote the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Maintain working awareness of state and federal regulations.
- Provide direct care duties in a timely manner.
- Interact politely and professionally with residents, family members, visitors, and staff.
- Cross-train to float to other areas of Charter House.
