About The Position

Charter House is Mayo Clinic’s retirement community in downtown Rochester, Minnesota, offering assisted living and short-term rehabilitation. The community emphasizes resident-focused care, safety, engagement, and interdisciplinary teamwork.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide and assist with direct and indirect resident care, supporting residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You will work with residents, families, visitors, and staff, and cross-train to float to other areas of Charter House. The position requires completion of all scheduled orientation and training sessions. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold Nursing Assistant Certification and be listed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
• Must be available to attend all required orientation sessions, including Mayo Clinic Orientation on the start date and seven weekdays of Charter House orientation and training.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills for interacting with residents and staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
• Availability to work varied hours, potentially including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, with rotating days off.
• Submit a CV or resume and cover letter with the application.
• Internal candidates must also submit their three most recent performance appraisals.
• Internal candidates who have not met their current department’s one- or two-year commitment must attach an early release from their current supervisor.
• For international degrees, provide a detailed U.S. degree equivalency evaluation from an organization listed with NACES or AICE.

• Cross-train to float to other areas of Charter House.
