Certified Nursing Assistant – Catered Living Center, Charter House Senior Living – CNA
About The Position
Charter House, Mayo Clinic’s retirement community in downtown Rochester, Minnesota, provides resident-focused Assisted Living and Short-Term Rehabilitation care. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide and assist with direct and indirect resident care, support residents’ well-being, and work with residents, families, visitors, and staff. The position includes cross-training to float to other areas of Charter House. Candidates must attend required Mayo Clinic and Charter House orientation and training sessions. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Requirements
- Be listed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Attend all required orientation sessions: Mayo Clinic Orientation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the start date, followed by seven weekdays of Charter House orientation and training from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and human relations skills to interact with residents and staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
- Availability to work varied hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, with rotating days off.
- Submit a CV or resume and cover letter with the application. Internal candidates must also submit their three most recent performance appraisals; those who have not met their current department’s one- or two-year commitment must submit an early release from their current supervisor.
- For international degrees, provide a detailed equivalency evaluation demonstrating a U.S.-equivalent degree, completed by an organization listed with NACES or AICE.
