About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, provides direct patient care while maintaining patient comfort and safety. The role may include serving as an interim department leader depending on need. Requirements

Clear and active Certified Nursing Assistant certification to practice in the state of Florida.
Medication Administration Training (6 hours) for an Assisted Living Facility (ALF), if applicable.
CPR certification.
Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight.
Perform or assist with personal hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs), and document as needed.
Distribute nourishments and water as scheduled or requested.
Communicate changes in patient or resident condition to the nurse during each shift.
Answer call lights within the appropriate established timeframe.
Maintain patient and resident safety at all times.
Follow nurse instructions in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide floor orientation to new employees as needed.
Remain flexible when assignments change due to census fluctuation.
Maintain required certifications and complete mandatory skill updates.
Comply with policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Float to other units as assigned to meet patient or resident care needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May serve as an interim department leader depending on need.
