Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
About The Position
Wellspring Lutheran Services is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants for its assisted living community in Saginaw. CNAs provide personal care and support residents’ mobility, independence, dignity, privacy, and quality of life. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, helping residents participate in meals and community activities, observing residents for changes in condition, and communicating concerns to nursing leadership. Staff who are trained as Medication Aides may assist with medication administration. CNAs work collaboratively with colleagues, residents, and families to help create a safe, respectful, supportive home where residents feel valued.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant license is required.
- A compassionate, service-oriented approach to resident care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and team members.
- Commitment to supporting resident choice, dignity, and well-being.
Nice To Haves
- Experience providing care or services to older adults.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Support residents in maintaining as much independence as possible.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other daily living activities while protecting residents’ dignity and privacy.
- Help residents get to meals, activities, and social events and encourage engagement with the community.
- Observe residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns to nursing leadership.
- If trained as a Medication Aide, assist with medication administration and help ensure residents receive medications as prescribed.
- Work with fellow CNAs to provide residents with excellent care, compassion, and attention.
