About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to assist nurses with basic care activities that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. The nursing group provides compassionate care in settings including Home Health, Hospice, Residential, and Private Duty. The role provides simple or uncomplicated patient care within the scope of the aide’s certification and applicable Standards of Practice.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record as defined by agency policy.
• CNA or Home Health Care Aide certification if required by state licensure in the state where care is provided.
• Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or six months of recent experience as an aide.
• Ability to use proper body mechanics while lifting; may be expected to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time, and bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with basic care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
• Dress, groom, bathe, and feed patients.
• Take and record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
• Answer call lights and assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
• Assist patients in wheelchairs, transport them, and turn bedridden patients.
• Report changes in patients’ conditions.
• Clean patient rooms and change bed linen.
• Give medication as directed by a physician or nurse and record the amount and time given.
• Take out trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
