About The Position

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is a 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital treating people recovering from serious injury, trauma, or illness. The Certified Nursing Assistant is an essential part of patients’ journeys toward independence, providing daily living care and supporting rehabilitation plans for patients who are medically stable but need intensive therapy before returning home or moving to a lower level of care. Conditions treated include brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, joint replacements, and amputations.

Requirements

• Completion of a nursing assistant training course.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BLCS certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or more of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living care to patients.
• Assist with preparation for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Answer call lights in a timely manner.
• Revise the plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate the overall plan daily.
• Obtain and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and other measurements.
• Make rounds with the oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition.
• Integrate the plan of care with the Rehabilitation Services treatment plan to help patients attain their optimal level of functioning.
