CNA / Certified Nursing Assistant - PT Days (Home Health)
About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a part-time, day-shift home health position. The role performs tasks delegated and indicated on the care plan for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Nursing Assistant should understand the basic elements of body functioning and physical and emotional changes, including those associated with death and dying. The position provides age-appropriate care for patients' physical and psychological needs and assists with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, and eating. Requirements
- Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course is required.
- Must be registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered with the applicable state's Department of Health.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to perform detailed work correctly and function under and handle stress.
- Ability to work with the growth and development needs of all client and patient populations.
- Must know medical terminology and organizational policies and procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills and a courteous, caring manner.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks delegated and indicated on the care plan for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Deliver age-appropriate care addressing patients' physical and psychological needs according to the care plan.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including dressing and undressing, bathing, and eating.
- Understand physical and emotional changes, including those that occur during the death and dying process.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
