About The Position

Wayne County's 192-bed, county-operated skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Lyons, New York, is hiring per diem Certified Nursing Assistants. The facility is rated High Performing in Long-Term Care by U.S. News Best Nursing Homes 2025 and has licensed nurses on every shift. CNAs provide residents' personal care, meal assistance, mobility support, and vital-sign monitoring, while observing and reporting changes in condition to the nurse. This is a W-2 hourly role with a flexible, per diem schedule. Staff select available shifts through the BRIDGE App, with no minimum hours and no obligation to accept shifts they did not choose. Shifts are generally eight paid hours with a half-hour unpaid meal break, and 12-hour shifts may be available. Orientation is paid at the employee's rate; pay is weekly. The employer arranges and pays for fingerprinting, immunizations, screening, and license verification. Paid sick leave accrues under New York law, and employees are covered by CLFC professional liability insurance on every shift. Compensation is $25.00–$28.00 per hour, with experience determining the rate and night and weekend shifts paid at the top of the range. Overtime over 40 hours and all ten County holidays are paid at time and a half. A confirmed shift canceled by the facility two hours or less before it starts is paid for four hours. Additional offerings described include CPR renewal reimbursement, support for continuing education and certifications, up to $1,500 per year in tuition assistance toward an LPN or RN program, and a $500 referral bonus for referring a nurse or aide. Program terms are provided in writing before acceptance.
