About The Position

Right at Home East Bay is hiring compassionate, dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide skilled, person-centered care for seniors in their homes across Contra Costa, Alameda, and San Joaquin counties. Caregivers primarily support clients with greater care needs so they can live safely, comfortably, and independently at home.

The role includes personal care, mobility assistance, specialty care, medication reminders and monitoring, observing and reporting changes in clients’ conditions, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and transportation. Weekday and weekend shifts are available, with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight opportunities. Scheduling is flexible and built around caregiver availability, with work close to home whenever possible.

Requirements

• Hold a valid CNA or HHA certification.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
• Be able to lift or move 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Register with the State of California as a Home Care Aide (HCA); the employer will guide applicants through the process.
• Pass a state Live Scan background check and tuberculosis (TB) test.
• Be eligible to work in the United States and provide employment eligibility verification.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene.
• Assist with mobility, safe transfers, positioning, and fall prevention.
• Provide specialty care, including dementia/Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and stroke care.
• Give medication reminders and monitor clients.
• Observe and report changes in clients’ conditions to the care team.
• Plan and prepare meals, including special diets.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide companionship, socialization, walks, and outings.
• Transport clients to errands and appointments.
