About The Position

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Tidelands Health are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join a growing community-based practice in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This is an employed position within MUSC Health, practicing in the Tidelands Health system and serving Georgetown and Horry Counties. The opportunity is a full-time inpatient/outpatient practice role due to volume growth.

The established program includes 11 OB/GYNs, two urogynecologists, and nine advanced practice providers, including six certified nurse midwives. The practice spans two acute-care hospitals and four outpatient practices. Labor and delivery coverage is at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, where midwives take first call. The facilities include a Level II nursery. The hospital holds advanced certification in perinatal care from The Joint Commission and is designated Baby-Friendly by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Dedicated marketing and outreach support the practice.

Requirements

• Board-certified Certified Nurse Midwife.
• Eligible for a medical license in South Carolina.
• Experience in labor and delivery, including managing routine deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient Certified Nurse Midwife services.
• Provide labor and delivery coverage at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.
• Take first call as a midwife.
• Manage routine deliveries.
