About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This frontline role builds customer relationships through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ financial goals and connects them with suitable banking products, services, and digital tools. The role supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while working with branch teammates to provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support long-term career growth and mobility. The position supports branch operations by flexing between cash handling and customer banking activities, with an emphasis on account openings and ongoing account support. The schedule includes Saturdays. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the registration process after the employee’s start date. Loan Originator requirements and Wells Fargo screening and policy standards apply. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of customer-interaction experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.
Must comply with Wells Fargo screening and policy requirements; a credit report may be reviewed, excluding credit score, and additional ongoing screening may apply.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in financial services or a highly regulated, customer-facing role, with comfort following structured processes and accuracy and service expectations.
Experience building trust-based customer relationships through active listening, follow-up, and consistent engagement.
Comfort initiating outreach by calls, emails, or other channels to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities to support customer needs.
Comfort with digital tools and technology, and ability to quickly learn systems and guide customers in adopting relevant capabilities.
Ability to identify customer needs and connect them with appropriate solutions, including referrals when additional expertise is needed.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to meet customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
Handle cash and perform teller-line activities, accurately processing transactions while maintaining compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support evolving banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service and exercise sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Collaborate with branch teammates to coordinate handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities to support branch operations.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures; escalate and remediate issues as appropriate.
