About The Position
Buckner Retirement Services is seeking Certified Nurse Assistants to provide care in its assisted living community in Dallas, Texas. CNAs support residents’ well-being by following their care plans, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living needs, and offering comfort and social and emotional support. This is an onsite role with an occasional, as-needed schedule. Buckner Retirement Services is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization operating senior living communities across Texas. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Working knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures, including infection control.
- Ability to read, write, and understand business documents written in English.
- Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers, and to make oneself clearly understood.
- Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
- Friendly attitude and a servant’s heart.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year of related experience, or appropriate formal education or Buckner training.
Responsibilities
- Follow residents’ care plans to provide appropriate care.
- Build connections with residents by sharing stories and providing comfort.
- Provide transportation and assist residents with daily living needs.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs.
- Provide emotional and social support to residents.
- Assist with personal hygiene, including providing bedpans and helping residents bathe.
- Safely lift and reposition residents as necessary.
- Provide adjunct patient care as needed.
- Notice changes in residents’ behavior and report them to shift leaders.
