About The Position

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC), part of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, is recruiting a Certified Nurse Aide to provide care to residents at its single-level facility, which has 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units. The center serves Virginia’s Veterans and describes its care as the gold standard in quality care.

The position is a day shift scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The hiring range is commensurate with experience, up to $55,702.

Requirements

• Hold a current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Have the physical ability to turn, bend, and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with meals and escort them to the dining hall.
• Make regular rounds, answer call lights promptly, and respond courteously.
• Complete required paperwork and computerized documentation for charting assessments.
• Provide residents with care according to their plans of care and ADL records.
• Monitor and observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status, and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
