About The Position

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center is recruiting a Certified Nurse Aide to provide care to residents at its single-level, 200-room veterans care facility. The role includes assisting residents with meals and escorts to the dining hall, responding promptly and courteously to call lights, completing required paperwork and computerized charting, providing care according to each resident’s plan of care and ADL record, and observing residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status and reporting changes to the Charge Nurse. The posted schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Physical ability to turn, bend, and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Make regular rounds and answer call lights promptly and courteously.
• Complete required paperwork and computerized documentation for charting assessments.
