About The Position

The Certified Nurse Aide I (CNA I) supports patient care in the Emergency Department at Frye Regional. The department provides emergency services including behavioral health treatment and referral, care for chest pain and stroke, sexual assault examinations, treatment of major and minor injuries and illnesses, and access to a helipad for patients requiring air transport. The position is scheduled for three 12-hour day shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Current state NA I license.
• Completion of an NA course from an accredited school.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Compassionate approach to patient care and understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and blood sugars.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Document and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition.
• Measure and document intake, output, and weights.
• Assist the nurse as needed.
• Answer call lights.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
• Distribute drinks and snacks.
• Maintain a clean and neat patient room and work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
