About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking a dedicated, hard-working Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to work full-time in the medical department at the Garrett County Detention Center in Oakland, Maryland. The CMT provides comprehensive nursing care and performs duties under the supervision of an RN. Applicants must also hold CNA/CMA certification and be dually certified as a CMT/CNA or CMT/CMA.

The position offers a two-week orientation period that includes on-the-job training and shadowing nursing staff. Available shifts are swing shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with work every third weekend of the month.

Requirements

• Completion of an approved CMT program.
• Dual certification as a CMT/CNA or CMT/CMA.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Pleasant telephone manner.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake screening on new patients.
• Take vital signs and complete appropriate intake forms.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
• Perform daily medication passes.
• Maintain medication records.
• Type reports, letters, and memoranda.
• Answer the telephone and process calls.
• Maintain the filing system and protect the confidentiality of information.
• Follow universal precautions.
• Maintain a pleasant working attitude.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated.
