About The Position

Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team, contributing to patient care by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on departmental needs. This role rotates among different units within the Moffitt Ambulatory Center (MAC), including assigned outpatient clinics and other designated patient care areas, to support quality patient care and appropriate staffing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification or registration from one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologist (RMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Healthcareer Association (CCMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA). Current Moffitt Medical Assistants transferring from a grandfathered unit must obtain certification from one of these organizations within one year of the transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• Applicable military medical training.
• Active enrollment in a BSN program, completion of nursing fundamentals, and proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.
