Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

Welcome and prepare patients for appointments and procedures
Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
Assist providers during examinations and treatments
Administer medications as permitted by certification and clinic protocols
Perform basic clinical procedures such as dressing changes and suture or staple removal
Collect laboratory specimens and assist with related testing processes
Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR)
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members
Support clinic operations while maintaining patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance
