About The Position

Highpoint Health Partners with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join its Pulmonology Clinic in Winchester, Tennessee. The CMA supports providers with patient care, clinical procedures, documentation, and daily office operations to help ensure an exceptional patient experience.

The position is full-time, daytime, with a schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and no weekends. The clinic sees 15–25 patients daily and uses a collaborative care model involving RNs, LPNs, and CMAs.

Requirements

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within the required timeframe.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or pulmonology setting.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and referrals.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks within scope, including injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients as directed.
• Maintain adequate supplies and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff.
