About The Position

Performs assigned patient care duties under the direction of a licensed provider (MD/PA/NP) or RN in an outpatient care setting. Clinical duties include obtaining vital signs, administering a limited profile of medications and injections under approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, cleaning equipment, ordering and stocking supplies, and maintaining exam rooms. Assists in emergencies as directed by a licensed provider or RN. Duties are specific to the practice site and may fluctuate by location.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or a medical assisting certificate.
• Current BLS certification, including BLS-I, BLS, or American Red Cross BLS.
• Medical assistant certification from an accepted credentialing body: AAMA (CMA), AMT (RMA), NHA (CCMA), NCCT (NCMA), or MedCA.
• Phlebotomy, EKG, and manual blood pressure skills.
• Valid Georgia driver's license if working in Virtual Care or Wellness on Wheels.
