About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant supports patient care by performing a variety of services and related activities, including accurate patient registration data entry and insurance verification. The role requires good judgment and effective communication with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers, along with a professional and caring manner. The Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing medical care; enters charges and updates patient accounts; verifies insurance and records statistics; and helps schedule appointments, answer phones, keep providers informed of changes, and inform patients about their benefits. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
- BLS is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of medical office experience preferred.
Responsibilities

- Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing medical care.
- Enter charges accurately on patient accounts, register patients, and update patient accounts.
- Verify insurance and record statistics.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and answering phones.
- Keep providers informed of changes.
- Inform patients of their benefits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
