About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider). This role involves assisting with treatments ordered by a provider, performing select clinical duties, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts. The CMA will also prepare treatment rooms, perform basic clerical duties such as answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Additionally, they will handle basic materials management, including ordering and stocking supplies, and assist in maintaining a clean and orderly environment. The role may also involve documenting the provider's encounter with patients, listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions, as well as transcribing patient orders for tests and medications.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • CMA Certification required upon hire/transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education OR experience, if applicable.

  • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
