About The Position

SMG Comprehensive Care is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform patient-care and administrative or clerical tasks and procedures. Duties are based on the employee’s training, education, and competency evaluations, and are delegated and supervised by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This is a full-time, day-shift position in Norfolk, Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of clinical or administrative experience.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-care tasks and procedures within training, education, and demonstrated competencies.
• Perform administrative and clerical tasks and procedures as delegated and under the direction or supervision of the designated clinical professional.
