About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant works in Memorial Family Medicine Clinic, a fast-paced, high-volume primary care clinic in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The clinic provides comprehensive care across the lifespan to obstetric, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including preventive, acute, and chronic care and in-office procedures. The CMA works collaboratively with the care team and assists with patient care under the supervision of physicians or nurses. The schedule is full-time days, Monday through Friday, with staggered shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.; no weekends or holidays are required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistance program or equivalent.
• CCMA, CMA, or RMA credential.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of physicians or nurses.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and collect specimens.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Document patient care provided.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain examination areas.
• Perform assigned administrative or clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
