About The Position

The Medical Assistant performs assigned direct and indirect care tasks in an ambulatory setting to meet patient care needs under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor. As a member of the healthcare team, the Medical Assistant accepts appropriate delegation from an RN or physician to help meet the needs of patients and families. The role follows the patient care plan, organizational policies and procedures, and principles of relationship-based care. It also carries out designated activities permitted by law for unlicensed healthcare personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program, or hold an active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
