Medical Assistant - Family Medicine - CMA
About The Position
The Medical Assistant performs assigned direct and indirect care tasks in an ambulatory setting to meet patient care needs under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor. The role participates as a member of the health care team and accepts appropriate delegation from a registered nurse or physician in meeting the needs of patients and families. Work is performed in accordance with the patient care plan, organizational policies and procedures, and principles of relationship-based care. The Medical Assistant carries out designated activities that are within the functions permitted by law for unlicensed health care personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program, or hold an active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
