About The Position

The Center Director leads a preschool child care center and is responsible for effectively and efficiently running school operations. The Director promotes children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth; works with staff to create a warm, inspiring, educational, caring, and safe environment; and keeps parents informed and engaged. The role also includes supporting teachers in implementing the company-provided curriculum and ensuring the school operates in accordance with company and state licensing standards.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Must meet state education requirements and the company’s center/school requirements.
• At least 2 years of Center Director experience in a licensed child care facility.
• North Carolina Level 3 credential.

Responsibilities

• Manage school staff by planning work schedules, evaluating staff performance, and developing performance improvement plans.
• Assist with implementing the company-provided curriculum by coaching teachers, communicating standards, and interpreting standards for teachers.
• Ensure the school operates in accordance with company and state licensing standards.
• Promote a positive partnership within the surrounding community.
• Help children develop and discover new things in an educational, caring, and safe environment.
• Recruit, select, and retain quality staff.
• Promote children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Keep parents informed and engaged.
